My research interest lies in the field of marine geology, carbonate sedimentology and coral paleoecology, with a special focus on the study of reef systems, past and present. More specifically, my main research themes are:

Past and present projects include various collaborations with researchers affiliated to universities or other scientific institutions in Japan and abroad, such as Tohoku University, the University of Tokyo, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), the University of the Ryukyus, the University of Sydney, Goethe University Frankfurt, the University of Granada, the European Centre for Research and Teaching in Environmental Geosciences (CEREGE).

過去および現在のプロジェクトには、東北大学、東京大学、JAMSTEC、琉球大学、シドニー大学、フランクフルト大学、グラナダ大学、CEREGEなどの国内外の大学やその他の科学機関に所属する研究者とのさまざまな共同研究が含まれます。
